Plymouth Naval Memorial commemorates 7,251 sailors of the First World War and 15,933 of the Second World War including my great-uncle, <strong><a title=\"Lt Cdr Charles Henry Martin\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hibbitt.org.uk\/familytree\/fam1788.html\">Lt Cdr Charles Henry Martin<\/a><\/strong>, who went down in HMS Hermes on 9th April 1942 off Ceylon (present day Sri Lanka).
