Hi there. My name is Annie Barnes (née Hibbitt) and this blog is a companion site to my Hibbitt & Barnes Family History website. The main site contains details of mine and my husband, Harvey‘s, family trees (click here if you wish to view all the names in our families) as well as photo galleries, biographies, a guestbook and other resources. The blog is a way of keeping you informed of my latest research and any changes to the main site. It also offers some useful family history links and other genealogical information.
The eagle-eyed reader may notice this blog is hosted under the www.hibbittbarnes.uk domain whereas the main website still resides at www.hibbitt.org.uk. Rest assured, they are both managed and maintained by Annie.

Here are some tips to help you navigate my blog…
- Links to the Main Site – you can reach the main site from any blog page by clicking the ‘Parent Site’ link in the navigation bar above. When on the main site, there’s a link back to this blog in the navigation bar on every page.
- Blog Home – you can return at any time to the blog’s home page showing my latest posts by either clicking on the ‘Hibbitt & Barnes Family History Blog’ title or the ‘Blog Home’ link above.
- Permanent Links – clicking on the title of any post in the index will take you to a dedicated page for that particular post.
- All Blog Posts – this link gives you an opportunity to view a list of all of my posts to date.
- Blog Search – searches my blog for your keyword(s). Note, this only searches the blog – likewise, the search facility on the main site does not include the blog and the galleries have their own search facility too.
- Categories – as the name suggests, this is where you’ll find posts grouped together within their given category(ies).
- Surname Tags – a convenient way to filter posts according to surname.
